Have one of those new fangled eReaders? An ipod or other mp3 player?
You can download digital books and audio books from the library for FREE! From the comfort of your own home. I didn’t believe it until I tried it. I live in Iowa and we have a website that connects local libraries on the internet. If you have a library card from one of the listed libraries, you can check out books online.
http://wilbor.lib.overdrive.com Here is the link – check it out!
First you go through the book selection and make a Wish List. Then you scroll through your wish list and select up to three titles that you want to put on your Wait List. The Wait List online works very much like a wait list at the checkout desk of your local library. You put your name at the bottom of the list and as people read the book and return it, your name moves up on the list. Only it is digital and you don’t need a pencil 🙂
The list will tell you if you are number 20 out of 26 people waiting for this book. It also sends you an email when a book is ready for you to check out. Then you sign in to the website, download the book, and start reading. Just like a real book you have 14 days to finish and return the book. If you finish before the 2 weeks is up you can return the book digitally. Since you are only allowed 3 books at one time it BEHOOVES you to return them quickly.
I love this. I can’t read fast enough. Not only am I reading free books from the library, I didn’t use any gas to get there!
